How a lesson works

  1. Pick an age

Each age band starts where children of that age usually are. You can switch any time.

  2. Play for a few minutes

Big buttons, pictures and Sam’s voice. One idea per lesson, three to five questions.

  3. Collect stars and see progress

Stars after every lesson. Grown-ups see what was practised and what to try next.

What grown-ups see

  1. Progress by skill

Which skills were practised and which questions needed a second try.

  2. The next lesson

Samtoon suggests what to play next, and you can always choose yourself.

  3. Practice, not tests

Finishing a lesson is practice. It is not a score or a grade.

Questions from parents

Does my child need an account?

No. A grown-up creates the family account and adds each child with a nickname and age. Children never need an email or password.

Can lessons be in Arabic?

Yes. Each child plays in English or Arabic, and Sam reads every question aloud in that language.

How long is a lesson?

Three to five minutes. Short sessions work best for young children.

What if a lesson is too hard?

Switch to another age band or pick a different lesson. Children of the same age often need different practice.
